Living with chronic UTIs: ‘I was sleeping on the loo with a pillow propped against the sink’

Kelly Fogerty was misdiagnosed and endured three years of excruciating pain from a chronic urinary tract infection before her health finally started to improve.

I went into hospital on 25 July 2018 to have a routine gynae scan, nothing major, just to make sure everything was OK as I’d had some symptoms. That came to nothing but after having had the scan a few days later I had the first proper urinary tract infection (UTI) of my life. I’d had one when was in my teens but nothing since then – and nothing like this.
